We write user guides, user manuals, quick-start guides and installation instructions for manufacturers. Most are written from scratch. Some restructure content you already have. Either way you get one document set, built to the standards your buyers audit against.

Who we work with

We work directly with engineering, either your own team or the third party behind a private-label build, and with marketing. Where the open questions are about how people actually use the product, we run user research and write from what we find.

Scope and languages

We write anything between a four-page quick-start guide and a hundred-page manual. Localization is part of the system, not a reprint: the content lives in a database, so a second language generates from the same source instead of restarting the layout. That includes right-to-left languages such as Arabic.

How we learn your product

Hugh ran product for hardware manufacturers for eleven years before the studio. We build product-manager-level knowledge of your line, not just of the document in front of us, and we use knowledge-graph tooling to get there quickly. That is what lets us spot where two documents disagree, answer questions about the product system, and stay useful across the whole lifecycle rather than one deliverable.

We are looking for long-term partners, not one-off jobs. The knowledge compounds: the second manual costs less than the first because the product system is already modelled.

Standards

We work to the standards your buyers audit against: IEC/IEEE 82079-1 for instructions for use, and ISO 7010, ANSI Z535 and ISO 3864 for safety symbols and warnings. We prepare documentation for CE marking and the Machinery Directive.
